Three ways to support a streamer on Kick

There are three ways to support a streamer on Kick. A monthly subscription, or sub, gives you a badge in that channel’s chat and the streamer’s subscriber emotes, and you can keep chatting when the streamer turns on sub-only mode. You can also gift subs to other viewers. KICKs are Kick’s own tipping currency: you buy them on Kick and send them in chat with a message that stays pinned for a while. Kick sets the prices, the rules and the streamer’s share for both. Many streamers also share an external donation link in their panels or chat: you choose the amount and pay on the streamer’s own page, outside Kick. These routes are separate and do not replace each other.

How do you subscribe or gift a sub on Kick?

On a computer, log in at kick.com and open the channel. Click the Subscribe button by the video player, choose a saved payment method or add a new one and confirm. A sub renews every month until you cancel, and a cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you already paid for. To gift, click Gift a Sub near the Subscribe button. Pick a preset or a custom number, up to 500 in one purchase, then choose a specific viewer or the community, in which case Kick hands the subs out at random to viewers in the channel. You can gift anonymously, even without your own sub. A gifted sub usually lasts one month and does not renew.

How do you send KICKs in chat?

You buy KICKs before you can send them. On a computer, click the KICKs icon next to your avatar at the top of the page, or click your KICKs balance or Get KICKs in a channel that accepts them. To send, open the channel, select the KICKs icon under the chat box and use the slider to pick an amount, from 1 up to 50,000 KICKs. Type the message you want to pin, review and confirm. The more KICKs you send, the longer your message can stay pinned in the chat carousel, although the streamer and moderators can remove it. Kick prices KICKs in US dollars at the same price worldwide and treats every KICKs transaction as final and non-refundable.

How to donate on Kick with the streamer’s own link

Many Kick streamers put a donation link in the panels under the stream. Open the channel on kick.com, click the About tab and look for a panel called something like Support, Tip or Donate. Some streamers also post the link in chat or answer a command such as !donate. Open the page and check that the name and photo match the channel. Choose an amount, add a message if you like and pick one of the payment options shown, such as card or a wallet. Wait for the confirmation before paying again: an alert that does not appear on stream does not mean the payment failed. You do not need a Kick account for this route.

How to donate on Kick from your phone

In the Kick app you can subscribe and send KICKs. To buy KICKs, tap your KICKs balance or the Get KICKs button in a channel that accepts them, then send them from the chat as you would on a computer. Managing a sub, such as a cancellation or a new payment method, only works on kick.com in a browser; if you paid through Apple or Google, also check your subscriptions there. For a donation link, look in the channel information or ask in chat. If you cannot find it, open the channel on kick.com in your phone’s browser and check the About tab. If a payment does not finish inside the app, open the same link in your usual browser.

How much does the streamer get?

Kick uses a 95/5 split on its main revenue streams. A sub costs a flat 5 US dollars a month in every supported country, and the streamer receives 4.75 dollars of it, gifted subs included. With KICKs, the streamer receives 95% of the value you send. Kick pays streamers through Stripe in their local currency. With a donation on a DonoLink page you pay exactly the amount you choose, and the streamer keeps it minus the 3.5% DonoLink fee and Stripe’s processing fees. Subs bring perks such as emotes and a badge; a donation brings no sub perks but lets you pick the amount. If your card is not in US dollars, your card provider converts the price, so the amount on your statement depends on its exchange rate.

Safety checks before you pay

Only use a link from the streamer’s own channel, its panels or a moderator you know. Kick warns about copycat accounts with almost the same name, a recent creation date and far fewer followers than the real channel, and about fake giveaways that ask you to pay. Hover over a link to see where it really leads. Kick says it will never ask for your password, or for Stripe logins or payment details outside the official platform. Ignore chatters who ask for money in a streamer’s name. The name and message you enter can appear on stream, so leave out personal details. Keep your payment confirmation in case you have a question later.

For streamers: how to set up donations on Kick

On Kick itself, viewers pay through subs at a fixed price or KICKs in set steps. To let them choose their own amount, create your DonoLink page with suggested amounts, connect Stripe for payouts and copy your public link. On Kick, open your channel’s About tab, click Edit Panels and add a ‘Support the stream’ panel with that link; if you use a chat bot, add a !donate command too. In OBS, add the alerts browser source: donations can show an image, GIF, video, sound or text-to-speech, and there are goal, recent donations and top donors overlays. Connecting Kick adds alerts for follows, subs and gift subs. A test alert checks picture and sound, not a payment. The account is free, with no subscription: DonoLink charges 3.5% per successful donation and Stripe charges processing fees separately.

Kick donations: quick answers

Do you need a Kick account? For subs and KICKs, yes; for a donation link, no. Why can’t you subscribe to some channels? Subs only work once the streamer meets Kick’s requirements and switches them on, and receiving KICKs needs Streamer status and a finished Stripe setup. Can you get a refund? Kick treats purchases as final, apart from cases such as duplicate charges, payments you did not make or where the law requires a refund, and asks for disputes in writing within 30 days. Gifted subs and KICKs are not refunded once delivered. For a link donation, contact the streamer, not Kick. Does a donation give sub perks? No, it is a separate payment.
