Have donation messages read aloud with text-to-speech

Text-to-speech, or TTS, reads aloud the message that comes with a donation. It is one of communities' favourite moments: the donor hears their message live and the streamer reacts. Set up well, TTS is fun and warm; set up badly, it becomes spam. DonoLink gives streamers in France the settings to stay in control.

Turn on text-to-speech

  1. Open the alert editor in your DonoLink dashboard.
  2. Enable text-to-speech and choose the voice.
  3. Set the minimum amount, length and profanity filter.
  4. Send a test alert and adjust the volume in OBS.

How TTS works in DonoLink

When a donation arrives, the alert appears and the message is then read by the chosen voice. Playback happens in your alert's browser source in OBS. Set its volume in the OBS audio mixer and enable "Control audio via OBS" if you want it in your recording.

Settings that prevent spam

Experienced streamers combine:

Stay in control during the stream

If a message causes trouble, skip the current alert from the dashboard or a Stream Deck. You can also pause the queue during an important moment and resume it later. Donations stay recorded even when an alert is skipped.

Tell donors upfront, in French or English

Your donation page tells donors from which amount their message is shown. They know in advance whether it will be read, which avoids disappointment.

Frequently asked questions

No, it is included for free. DonoLink only charges 3.5% per successful donation.

Yes. Set a minimum amount for a message to be shown and read. Below it, the donation is recorded without reading the message.

The profanity filter replaces or hides it before reading. You can also skip the current alert in one click.
